Dante 03:28
My mistakes are haunting me Your fucking God parts the sky to breathe right down my back and up my spine Taking back your gift tonight I know I’ll be locked away with all them damn fools again Hold me down while I scream Wake me up when the golden era starts again Hold my time machine with both hands Fuck this world haunting me We built our lives on Dante’s Peak Whip my back and say you’re mine Taking back your gift tonight I know I’ll be locked away These mistakes made me what I am I’m me, I’ll never change, for you But even if I slashed out every tire But even if I lit the house on fire But even if I reached out for desires But even if I scarred your fucking heart But even if But even if But even if

Nullify 04:52
Death to this world Satan’s calling my name Through the fog I’ve watched you drifting in flames Sent to destroy everything in its place Nullify, until they tear you apart Crawl on your knees and wipe your feet at the door Laying down while you beg it to stop “Jehovah has lied,” the child said no more Tears fell from their eyes as they begged it to stop One hundred years locked away in that room One hundred years of tears cast to the wind One hundred years One hundred years Through the fog I’ve watched you drifting in flames Celebrate all your last defeats Lay me down Damned upon your knees By the way I’ve gone I’ve left you here to wander all alone By the way I’ve gone

Razor 01:42
Born with a razor and locked in a basement Laser engraving something a fable said Poor little fly stuck in the frame Poor little fly stuck in the frame Setting the post straight Straight in your mothers’ eyes Licking your wounds shut Feeling her rake at her eyes Poor little fly stuck in the frame Poor little fly stuck in the frame Born with a razor locked in the basement Laser engraving something I need to forget Poor little fly stuck in the frame Poor little fly stuck in the frame

Moretta 04:03
Voyeur eyes are at the seams just as it seems Pushing farther every inch to the extreme Deities ate her scarlet heart Now fiend for bones The moretta mask that she wore, she couldn’t afford Pocket thief’s visceral eulogy Mourns the trauma and the remedy Moretta mask has her choking down on the bead No one even knew who you were The golden liar smiles now in the hearse I spent my days counting UFO’s My pages are blacked out God only knows how he knows Lord how your voodoo runs through my soul How did you learn how to stare like Nina Simone? Here comes the rain boy It came pouring down There comes the rain girl It came pouring down, down, down deep in the ground A cat scratching your back it just might sting You’re rolling in salt you might learn how to sing You might learn how to scream It’s train after train, car after car A race to the red lights of the holocaust for us all Here comes the rain boy It came pouring down There comes the rain girl It came pouring down, down, down deep in the ground

One night I’d lay my head down broken on your shelf Pouring rain in this lifeboat I’d set sail again Your whole life in the blender A Roy Lichtenstein shrapnel cloud tearing all you to pieces Fiery lions and tigers on your breath again I’m holding on for my friends, I’m holding on by the edge, I’m holding on by the ridge, I’m holding on This whole life in the blender No one could hear you screaming Committing a murder was a psychic healing You killed a mockingbird with Nosferatu limbs Levitate your mind Now ride the lightning on your breath again I’m holding on by the edge, I’m holding on by the fringe, I’m holding on by the ridge, I’m holding on

Just one stop I don’t have to explain If I could get to heaven it would be straight to your brain in the mainline I won’t hesitate for a free ride Because there’s a mile in me that you can’t even see I get embarrassed what they’re saying about the ticks and the fleas I can’t rewind a bat flying blind in the daylight There’s a mile in me that shakes like the trees That why I have been living with the ticks and the fleas I scratch and bleed but they are burying deep in the mainline Cause there’s a mile in me that you can’t even see I don’t care bout what they’re saying about the ticks and the fleas I breathe in life and Miku sings to me in this moment

Hold on dear for your life if you’re in love with this world It’s your deepest desire Lay down steadfast and true The thicker the ropes bound to your heart If I’m not finding my way Shield your eyes from the A-Bombs I’m not a light in this world Disconnecting my cell phone You’ll shoot at the moon, piss on our graves, howl like a fool Born ugly this way, I can relate that I can’t relate If I’m not finding my way She’ll just ask me to stay home I’m no light of the world The horse I ride on is a coward You’ll shoot at the moon, piss on our graves, howl like a fool Born blue in the face, I can’t escape, I can escape

Turning 2D 02:39
Oh by the way you know I will live in 2D Never leave my home Don’t excel at nothing Only going out to spend the excess money I’m afraid all of you are turning 2D If I could fake it all and only live in 2D Write shitty songs till I'm completely empty Never leave this town where they talk about me I’m afraid of you and you’re turning 2D I’m afraid you’re 2D I’m afraid you’re 2D I’m afraid you’re 2D I’m afraid you’re turning 2D

Uteralus 02:13
Lame and unaware I’ll just stare in despair I’m barely aware of your point of view Savour every day you ride your bicycle through rain What’s barely there inside of you Save your bones for stew and save your hooves for someone new I’m barely aware your porno moves Savour every day you ride your bicycle in rain A Uteteralus palace point of view Save your bones for stew and save your hooves for someone new I’m barely aware your point of view Savour every day you ride your bicycle in rain I’m barely there inside of you Lame and unaware I’ll just stare in despair at what’s barely there inside of you

about

Skunky cannabis, endlessly spinning vinyl, and a long cold winter resulted in The Dabs releasing another menacing collection of badlands rock songs. Translating acid dreams into unsettling confusion, Jeremy Dabs stabs furiously around his Ovation guitar and howls through his gritty tube mic. Kyuss worship wasn’t supposed to be like this.
Dark chainsaw massacres of swirling guitars and pummelling drums; just ripping through you at full speed and no relent. Extra-terrestrial ska punk that is also groovy metal? Every verse is as if J's vocal cords are going to blow out of your speakers and strangle you. That’s just side A.
Zach has become a whole new monster on this album. His scale skipping plucks are compelling and you can really hear his adventure into new far out bass territory. Tyrell is still the powerhouse of this trio and he has defined his own personality with his deep flutter of single kicks and drum skin torture. $4 worth of insurance is worth it at Long and Mcquade's rental department when you have Tyrell smashing the shit out of an expensive kit.
“The Cave Singer’s Psychic Dismemberment” is the title track of the album and it kicks off side B. It’s a psychedelic badlands journey into the after dimension. Then the album takes a turn into brave new soundscapes using the Korg Miku stomp pedal. Yes, that creamy Queens/Kyuss fuzz guitar becomes a 16 year old Japanese pop star using the most ridiculous guitar pedal ever construed. Somehow, Miku wasn’t a train wreck and they managed to create something bizarre and beautiful within their third full length LP.
The album ends with a blur of fury from grohl-esque drums and desert session madness.
